Business is better in the Bahamas

Bahamas Motto: "Forward, Upward, Onward Together"
Forward, upward, onward, together.

It may become apparent to readers that I'm biased about the Bahamas, well there's good reason for that. Aside from having been the webmaster and original creator of the Bahama Out Islands website I've held a fascination for many years about this region and while living in South Florida for almost 12 years made several excursions to the islands but have only seen a handful of them (so far).

On the business side, I've owned 2 Bahama Corporations, 1 Domestic and 1 IBC, as well as having been involved with several others. So, I know from experience that Bahamas is a very professional jurisdiction for achieving your global commerce objectives. In Nassau the presence of Canadian Banks and a downtown Barclay's plus many other Global banks, gives the uninitiated the sense that they've come to the right place to manage money.

My only caveat is that the law firms in Bahamas are accustomed to working with larger multi-national type entities and managing hefty trusts, so if you're in charge of a smaller more start-up size business then you'll need to get used to the slightly slower pace and often higher fees.

Recently the former President of the Bahamas Society of Financial Analysts, Kevin Burrows CFA, provided me with a brilliant synopsis of the current state of affairs in the Bahamas. It's entitled;

Taxation, Globalization and Free Trade in the Bahamas
